Lucky Dog.

Meet Marshall the 3 year old mix breed. His story is not unlike countless other dogs in the Lowcountry. He was born a wanderer and got into one too many garbage cans, which found him a free ride to the local shelter. After a few weeks, Marshall’s luck changed when a rescue group arrived with an available foster home. The group covered Marshall’s medical expenses. The foster home kept Marshall happy, healthy and well-fed until the Duncan's came along. They met at a local adoption event and fell in love with his half cocked ears, spotted tongue and oh so innocent expression. It was love at first slobber.

Now, Marshall enjoys his loving home and only on the rare occasion will he topple the garbage can.

Say hello to Gumbo who was a little kitten when she came to the vets office. A group of teachers at a daycare found her hiding on the playground. She had a multiple fracture in her right leg. The vet made the best decision for her at the time, and stabilized it with a splint and within a few weeks the bones fused giving Gumbo her signature wobble.

Annie was just a little girl when she first met Gumbo. She and her parents were visiting a pet store when they noticed a cat rescue group had cats for adoption. Annie was fast to choose Gumbo because she was “unique.” Three years later they are still playing dress-up and having tea parties together.

Gumbo’s soft purr puts Annie to sleep almost every night.

Happy Cat.
